Gmail for iPhone Updated

By Michael Klurfeld on April 7, 2009

Google just did a redux of Gmail for iPhone, functionally obsoleting the iPhone’s native mail client. The main reasons for this are:

1) You don’t have to load mesages in batches,

2) You can actually search your mail,

3) You can now type emails in landscape mode, meaning you can now type emails that are longer than a standard text message.

Additionally, your Google Calendar, Docs, and other Google features are nicely integrated into the web app. This makes the updates to Mail coming in the 3.0 version of the iPhone fimware seem rather underwhelming.
