Your Twitter account is now your business card. I came to this brilliant idea upon linking a friend to a friend. I did not give away an email address. Nor did I give away a blog link, or point to LinkedIn or Facebook. “Head over to @appleuzer,” I said. And then it hit me in its brilliance. Twitter is your identity. Consider this for a moment, we have already reached the point when people tend to say with straight faces that “your blog is your resume.” This is merely the next progression towards replacing old methods and systems with the newest technologies that are faster and more transparent.
Really, why do you need a business card? That information is on your linkedIn and blog, and it is linked to on you Twitter page. When I see you at a conference, I’m just going to give you an “@alex,” and walk away. Remember when people would beam their business cards between Palms?
