Spoiler: it wasn’t. After Twitter’s recent disastrous bout of not working, people began to wonder if their data storage system was at fault. Many people’s user images (and other things that S3 seems to handle) were not doing what they should do, work. Amazon told those rumor mongers to stop thinking it, they had nothing to do with it. Once again, Twitter cannot keep their damned front doors open.
The comic thing, how do you report Twitter down time? I later talked to people about this, and we all realized that we wanted to tweet about Twitter downtime. You always refire up TweetDeck and then stare stupidly at the screen, where are all the tweets? Shake your head in disgust at yourself, just don’t yell at Amazon.
