Aardvark gets even better

By Dan Monzelowsky on June 27, 2009

aardvarkJust the other day, I stated that one of the main issues with Aardvark, the social search service, is that one comes across too many “Google-able” questions. Aardvark listened, and responded today with an update.

One new option when answering someone’s question is to reply with “google.” Here’s what Team Aardvark says:

If you’re sent a trivially Google-able question — if someone asks for the weather, or movie times, or a trivial fact — type ‘google’ to let Aardvark know.

Aardvark will then send the asker a helpful message with the relevant search results from Google… and give them some tips about better questions to ask Aardvark next time.

You also have the option to type “more” to see some more new features.

If you can think of anything else you would like to tell Aardvark about, or have a feature you would like to see, you can post a message in their new Community Feedback Forum. Team members will be responding to all questions and issues. If there’s one thing that I’ve noticed about Team Aardvark, it’s that they are very quick to reply, and are very friendly about it. Everyone there has been very informative and has been great about keeping all of their users in the loop.

So there we have it. Aardvark has been listening to their users and given us just what we wanted. If you’d like to join the service, you can by clicking here. You can also join Aardvark on Facebook.
