At This Pace, Friendfeed Will Never Win

By Holden Page on June 24, 2009

A lot of people group Friendfeed and Twitter together as competitors, and while I am still on the fence about this I figured I would point something out to all the Friendfeed people who think that they will eventually overcome Twitter, it isn’t happening.

You can scream till the heavens hear you that Friendfeed is better, it isn’t changing a thing. Twitter has an unbelievable amount of momentum behind them. With the iran elections dominating the trending topics,  CNN using Twitter as a source of information, and Perez Hilton dramatizing the Black Eyed Peas debacle there seems to be no signs of the Twitter drama slowing down.

So Friendfeeders, I love ya cause I am one of them, but unless someone at Friendfeed starts taking some serious steps to compete with Twitter we are going to be the middle child of the micro-messaging world. Looks like real-time isn’t enough to take on Twitter after all.
