Blogging And The Echochamber

By Alex Wilhelm on June 25, 2009

If you take a look over at TechMeme, for any one major story, there will be four to twenty other stories from a variety of other publications covering the same thing. Mostly, it seems, saying the same thing. We at TechGeist are against this.

Yes, we write about new current events, trends, and happenings in the tech world. You expect that of us. It’s a big part of what we do. But what we do that is even more important, we feel, is to provide context and clarity to an issue. Sure, we may report that the PS3 might get a price cut, but we’ll break that down and tell you why, and how, and when, and for who, and what this is going to change. We follow this stuff far too closely, and take that extra knowledge and give it to you, saving you time and headaches.

We do not want to just be a place to get the latest tech news. Hell, TechMeme will always beat us at that. But what we can do it make the news more comprehensible. TechGeist is here for you all, feel free to drop us a note at support@techgeist.net
