A month ago Contenture, a micropayment service that lets customers pay website small amounts to support them, released on a rocky start. They started off the service by offering an interface that just didn’t seem quite finished, and didn’t give their users much information on the product that they were paying for. Come June, Contenture released the ability to see things like statistics on the Contenture users that viewed your site. Now that they have had a month to get their act together, we come to the first payment from Contenture to the sites using Contenture.
So, the question on everyone’s mind is: How much of a payout will Contenture be? Given that the service provides plans between $6/month and $50/month, and 20% of the money is taken by Contenture, that means that the sites Contenture runs on must compete on a user based pool of anywhere from $4, to $40.
Will Contenture be a success? Check back here for more updates on the payout.
