The Devastating Effect Of Vanity URL’s on Facebook

By Holden Page on June 26, 2009

When Facebook suggested that you choose your URL name wisely, they meant it. Diana Ostaszewski seemingly unaware, had the facebook vanity url facebook.com/iloveanal. This has had a devastating effect on her and search engines were quick to pick up. Typing in her name front and center pops up a lovely “Diana Ostaszewski Loves Anal!” As we all know, many companies are adopting internet searches as part of the screening process for potential candidates in a job and changing Google results aren’t easy. This could potentially have a lasting effect on this poor girl. What is also worse is that she was seemingly unaware of the fact that her vanity URL was iloveanal based off of this conversationg embedded below.

Let’s hope the conversation can get fixed A.S.A.P. because if something like this happened to me I would be devastated by the potential effects of such a ridiculous act. I hope the people that did this to the poor girl feel really great about themselves right about now.

She really, really does.

  1. I’m still laughing over here. I mean, that’s too funny.

  2. the “person that did this removed the content once people started deciding to go around posting full names and making it really personal.

  3. You do understand that when you said “(name) loves anal” that you just made the problem worse on Google – right?

    hahahaha.

    Ace job, sir.
