Wordpress.com, the second largest blogging network on the internet is going charitable with SocialVibe. If you aren’t aware of what SocialVibe is and what they do I will give you a quick run-down.
SocialVibe lets members embed a widget on any site, such as Myspace, Facebook, Bebo Friendster and others. You also have the ability to embed the widget on your own site too via HTML. Everytime someone views the widget a certain amount of money is given to the cause you chose to support. This money does not come from you the owner or as a visitor. Each one of these widgets are sponsored by companies and products ranging from Apple and Microsoft too Snickers. SocialVibe has proven to be wildly popular on Myspace with huge backing from Matthew Lush a.k.a. Gay God as known on Myspace.
Wordpress.com is making it easy for their users to embed a SocialVibe widget and let Wordpress users support their favorite cause. All you have to do is log in go to Appearance -> Widgets and drag the SocialVibe widget into the sidebar. If you don’t have an account with SocialVibe, don’t worry, you can make an account within the widget. As for the users who use Wordpress self-hosted (like Techgeist) you can download a plug-in here that will do the same thing.
Do you plan on implementing SocialVibe on your Wordpress account? Why or Why not? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
