Contenture, one of the pioneers in the micropayment front, has been quick to release some much needed features for its micropayment service. In May, they first launched their company that track how much a visitor uses different sites, and then pays the site based on how often that user used the site compared to others. Now, Contenture is back and adding a new feature to allow sites to charge set prices per month for a Contenture user.
For awhile it has been fairly annoying to start up a subscription based service because you have to create a system that handles recurring payments and making sure accounts are suspended when no one is paying for them. Now, Contenture is offering a system that lets sites charge a subscription fee for special access to their site, starting at $0.10/month. This subscription fee will be tacked on top of the Contenture user’s bill, so that if they were paying $5.99/month, and a site had a $1/month subscription that they signed up for, the new bill would be $6.99/month.
