Use Firefox 3.5 HTML 5 Features

By Holden Page on July 1, 2009

One of the highlighted features of Firefox 3.5 is support for HTML 5, most notably the audio and video tags. Many websites have yet to adopt HTML 5 standards though so actually seeing the power of HTML 5 is a bit difficult.  Well, I did a bit of digging and thanks to this reddit (catch the pun?) submission I came across a really interesting site that lets you test out the power of HTML 5 on Firefox.

The site has 12 demos that mostly show of the capabilities of the video tag. One of the most interesting in my opinion was the subtitles example. Once turning on the subtitles you had three languages to choose from, English, Spanish and French. Clicking on any of these languages during the video automatically changed the language with no re-load necessary. Of course there are some other pretty nifty features that open up a whole new world of browsing. Check it for yourself.
