Not Good, Child Porn On The iPhone

By Holden Page on July 3, 2009

Looks like Apple’s lovely registration process has just taken another blow. The app BeautyMeter which allows users to upload photos and then lets other users rate the pictures, turns out that a girl took it a bit too far. The fifteen year old girl posted a picture of herself completely topless and showing more than needed down below.  So far the application has not been removed by Apple and at the time of this writing nor has the image been pulled by BeautyMeter.

This just proves that Apple really has no way of controlling an applications behavior no matter how hard they try. This could potentially happen with any application that allows you to upload photos and you can be sure of the fact anything remotely like this application will undergo some pretty hardcore scrutiny. The positive thing is that neither the application or Apple will be charged with any wrongdoing as long as they fix the issue in a timely manner.

Thanks Wired.
