Still No MMS, Thethering Pricing

By Alex Wilhelm on July 10, 2009

ATT really does seem to be in no hurry to do anything useful. Aside from oversell their pathetic 3G network, they have no short term objectives that will effect me more than my current drama of dropped calls. SlashGear has been in touch with them over the last day; this is what they learned:

  • MMS is probably going to be delayed (from a logical standpoint), but ATT is insisting “later this summer.” Of course, that is akin to insisting “whenver the fuck we want,” but we’ll let it slide. My friend with G1’s constantly give me hell over this, but I can email photos with not too much delay.
  • Tethering will not cost $55 dollars according to ATT on Facebook. I’m pretty sure that this means that it will cost $60, if I listen to my cynical side. Whatever the price, it will be too high. I already pay for unlimited data damn it. Choke on a pretzel ATT.

Good new: no new bad news. Bad news: as usual, no good news. This is what I want to hear: MMS is coming tomorrow, and tethering is part of your already expensive plan. Chance of that happening? Same chance as TechGeist taking over TechCrunch in pageviews. That said, I am a customer ATT, keep sucking the way you do and I may just wander of a Pre on Sprint. That’s right, you heard me.
