Powerpoint Hosed – Prezi Funded

By Alex Wilhelm on July 20, 2009

As a side note to all the MBA types in the world, PowerPoint is now moot. Prezi, gentlemen, is ascendant. Prezi, the brilliant online tool for creating the best presentations (can I say, prezi-tations?) has just nailed a funding round and the ever popular Jack Dorsey of Twitter fame has joined their board. From Robin Wauters at TweetCrunch:

“The startup just secured an undisclosed amount in Series A financing from Scandinavian VC firm Sunstone Capital and is adding Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey to its roster of company advisors.”

As a dedicated user, I am excited. As an advocate of the freemium business model, I am ecstatic. An internet company with revenue gets funded? Watch out, the bacon must be levitating.

Also check out http://www.beta.lila.io, which is similar to Prezi but also support hi res images and its UI is more Adobeish.

We use it at Copenhagen School of Architecture and it has almost replaced all PDF presentations.

I have a few extra beta invites so send me an email at lahighlander(a@t)gmail.com if you want one. Otherwise I know they are looking for more test pilots so try to throw them an email.
