One of the most popular applications on the iPhone is Facebook and understandably so. Nearly 250+ million people use Facebook, it is a safe assumption that nearly all iPhone users also have a Facebook page to boot. Joe Hewitt, developer of the Facebook app has recently tweeted that the latest version is about ready for prime-time. So what can we expect from the new and improved Facebook for the iPhone?
1. News Feed Support: Now you will be able to view and like items in your news feed.
2. Home screen: The home screen is getting a serious make over and will be fully customizable to suit your needs.
4. Events: You will now be able to make and edit events via your iPhone.
3. Video Uploads: With the iPhone 3GS came the much touted video support. The new Facebook application now will support video uploads over wi-fi directly to Facebook.
So how long until you iPhone users get your grubby hands on the new and improved Facebook application? Well no one is for sure. While the feature-set for the latest upgrade is down-pat, translating the application is an ongoing process that could take a few weeks. Also, with the latest Apple App Store issues, who knows when the Facebook app will be approved, if at all.
Until then, you Facebook fanatics will have to stay content with what you have and await the new shiny features in suspense. It’s kind of fun playing guess n’ wait with Apple, isn’t it?
