I was just goggling around and stumbled on this post. Kutano is now on Chrome :) It's still in developer preview mode for the next couple of days. You can either wait until Chrome extensions go public, or switch to the Chrome developer channel to try it right away: http://www.chromeextensions.org/social-communications/kutano/

When I have it in Chrome, I will use it all day. I would love to hear about that surprise, when the time comes.

Hey Alex,

On behalf of the Kutano team, thanks for the article.

Some insight about Kutano and the Google Chrome:
- We are currently working on a version that supports Chrome.
- We established a strong working relationship with Google.
- Soon we'll have a nice surprise for you.

Cheers, Assaf.

Thanks Alex,

Tried Kutano. Loved the tool. Do agree with you about the Tweet delay but it is still brings the value for me.

I don't know how the old vesion looked like but the current version looks cool. Thanks, Barb :-)

Thanks, Alex for this insightful review.

As you astutely suggested, the latency of tweets is directly related to the Twitter API limits as well as other external resources such as bit.ly and TinyUrl. We are working with Twitter in an effort to expedite the appearance of new tweets in Kutano. After recent improvements, Kutano is now able to show tweets within one minute of their creation, under normal circumstances.

As for historical tweets, you are again spot-on. The Kutano databases only go back a month or so, to the time we started caching tweets for search. This will improve over time. By the way, Twitter search only goes back 14 days.

Personally I can’t wait for the Kutano Chrome version, since Chrome is by far my favourite browser... Unfortunately the currently released version of Chrome does not offer an extensibility model that would allow Kutano to exist within it. We are closely monitoring further Chrome developments and will act upon them as soon as possible.
