I know a lot of iPhone users who are a tad bit tap happy with “download button”. I actually know a few friends who have racked up quite a few hundred dollar bills in the attempt to download the latest and greatest application. Now there is an application available for the Mac that keeps track of your spending on iPhone applications.
The App Store Expense Monitor made by Wetfish keeps track of what you spend on Apps (past and present). It can also handle multiple accounts (great for the son or daughter who might be a little tap happy as well). You will be notified of your spending constantly with a nice little dollar sign that is always present in the menu bar.
The only bummer about this application is that it is only available for the Mac. A lot of people who own an iPhone don’t own a Mac as well. It looks like Wetfish is pretty Apple exclusive though so I wouldn’t count on an App for windows anytime soon. If you do have a Mac, this application is free, you might be surprised by how much you spent. I know a few of my friends are.
