The fine fellows at Gizmodo have done it again, getting their grimy paws on leaked screenshots from the Best Buy backed. Zune pricing is going to be as follows:
16 GB – $220
32 GB – $290
Also, the September 8th launch was confirmed. Now to the fun part, let’s take a look at current iPod Touch pricing (via Apple.com):
16 GB – $299
32 GB – $399
Now I know that the Mac legions are going to point out one thing or the next that the Touch does that the HD does not, such as have an App store designed by Stalin, but look at the price differential. Explain that away to the consumer who is buying their kid a neat gadget. Prediction: Zune sales skyrocket this fall, or iPod Touch prices plummet.
Be realistic, with the Zune HD Microsoft is stabbing Apple where it hurts, directly in the pocket book.
