If these price cuts had happened then, they could have either gotten the 32 gig models, or our family could have saved a lot of money. That being said, I can't say I'm shocked at all that Apple did this. It just goes to show how much profit they were obviously making with the old price points; if they were able to lower prices by this much. The iTouch is basically the youth indoctrination device of the Apple line. Apple wants people who don't quite want to go for an iPhone yet to get an iTouch, and hopefully that'll make for more iPhone users down the road.
