Bing used to be a single server down the hall. But now 90 days into its launch, it is a veritable behemoth in the search world. They are launching some new features in Bing that they are about to announce, over the next 5 minutes. Based on what the customers are doing, right now, Bing is actively changing their algorithms to match exactly what the consumers need. Additionally, Bing is launching a feature which they think is going to make search a lot easier to use.
Bing Wave 2 is going to launch very soon, and it promises all-around improvements. What they are putting up is called “visual search.” This will allow you to “pivot” the way in which you visualize search results. Check it out here.
Using a 3D format, you can scroll through the images on the Bing homepage (which attract a lot of traffic) in a new way, which is essentially just a modified screen layout. You can filter down within the visual layout. The whole system looks better and seems faster. It’s a little hard to explain, so you might have to check it out for yourself. At the time of posting, Bing doesn’t seem to have changed anything yet, but they promise to have the new features up shortly.
