According to those big timie folks over at Engadget, HP is coming out with some sexy, sexy computers that harken back to the MacBook Pro school of design. The laptops, the ENVY 13 and the ENVY 15 are rocking both discrete graphics and close to seven hours of quoted battery life. Given that I’ve seen six hours standard from some Sony Vaios, I wouldn’t immediately call this a standard battery lie. The computers also do that stupid, Mac-inspired no-real-click-buttons thing, where instead of left and right mouse buttons, there’s some software which traces location. Some people who had a hands-on with the product said that the software is as of now a bit wonky.
So I know this isn’t normal TechGeist fair, but I’m passing it along just because I love 13″ laptops that are below the 4 pounds mark, and the Envy 13 fits that bill. It’ll retail for $1699, which is not super cheap as far as PC laptops go, but it’s still cheaper than Sony’s Vaio Z, which is the only comparable Windows machine I can think of. Both models of the new Envy series will be out October 18th.
