Sometimes being wrong can be a good thing, and wrong I was. I made loud, unkind noises about the launch of Retweet.com, the new Tweetmeme competitor. The market already has a leader, I said. Why would you do this? What is the point of having this new website, with less features, and no interesting differentiating capabilities, when we already have TweetMeme?
There was no reason, but launch it did.
Retweet.com of course had a silly little competition to give away 10,000 dollars if they hit one million visits in the first month. I said “ah, hell no.” I most certainly felt that this was not going to happen. I was mistaken. My complaints aside, people have been going to the website. This is proof that there is no god.
Sean Boone, the “art director” of Mesiab Labs left a comment on the original post that I wrote, let’s see what he said:

I am all about the underdog, Sean. And, I freely admit it when I am wrong. I did not think that you would get to one million hits on a month, let alone two weeks. You win this round. There, have a cookie. However, I still stand by my reivew of Retweet.com. In my most humble, acerbic, and unkind opinion, TweetMeme is a better site and service.
