TheSwop is a system to exchange to allow startups to share startup services with other startups. Don’t have money, but have some skills? Then in fact TheSwop might just be for you. I bet that you have one startup employee who does one thing so well, that in fact you could farm him out for just two days, and get yourself a nice large dosage of services that you do not in fact have yet.
Perhaps you need some lawyer love, and yet have nothing to pay them with? Perhaps you could just trade some PHP work for it. Tit for tat, scratch my back, and I will wash your hair. Their demo wandered through a system of favor points and the like to allow startups to help each other out, save money, and get everything you need, by trading resources.
It sounds like socialism to me.
