Awesome! This Toyota C-HR has more than 600 hp and is faster than many supercars (+13 photos)
Toyota wanted to create a car that was able to roll faster than supercars like a McLaren, a Porsche or Nissan GT-R. We could probably not imagine is that this car would be a Toyota C-HR. And not just any. A Toyota C-HR over 600 hp which, according to its creators, he would have rolled faster in tests that have been conducted in Willow Springs circuit a McLaren 650S Spyder, a Porsche 911 GT3 and GT-R Nismo Nissan. Awesome!
What is surprising is not only this Toyota C-HR has been equipped with an engine that accredits about 608 horsepower, but also its nature. With the limited space of a car which is designed to equip a hybrid engine, and at most a compact four-cylinder engine, Toyota used a block - also four cylinders - with 2.4 liters of displacement. A block to achieve those numbers has been prepared with a specific system of Garrett turbos and a sporty five-speed manual gearbox and a differential.
Toyota claimed they did not want this Toyota C-HR 608 hp out only fast in a straight line. Why not missing a chassis ready for circuit racing Brembo brakes and slick tires.
This Toyota C-HR, presented these days in the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, It has also been adorned with numerous aerodynamic elements, among which stands out above all its huge spoiler. To keep your weight in check, Toyota also would have proceeded to empty part of the interior. Beyond its presence at the SEMA Show, Toyota warns that continue to work on this prototype and carrying out further testing. Its creators did not want it to be only a prototype display, but also a fun project that has a longer path.
About the Toyota C-HR is worth remembering that in Spain or, rather, on the peninsula, is for sale only mechanical hybrid, from 24,750 €. Outside Spain and the Canary Islands it is also available with a four-cylinder engine without hybridization.
As recently we knew, we know that the Toyota C-HR receive a more powerful and focused hybrid mechanical performance. Mechanics that moment, we do not know too many details.
