It’s here the new Nissan Leaf 2018 and aims to be a Tesla for all budgets with 378 km of autonomy (+39 photos)
Nissan has just introduced which, according to the brand itself, is the electric car for everyone and for all, most advanced available pockets. In 2010, the Nissan Leaf landed in a market in which an electric car dedicated, spacious, and with a minimum quality, could already excel and differentiate products still were far from approaching the quality standards of their counterparts engined internal combustion. But over the years things have changed a lot. Tesla marked a before and after, especially with regard to the problem of autonomy, though still far from the power for the masses advocated Nissan. Now, what will be the Nissan Leaf 2018 most advanced electric market? Will there be achieved Nissan create a Tesla for all audiences?
New image while preserving their differentiation
If anything characterized the Nissan Leaf was precisely for being built on a new platform, being a completely differentiated from the rest of the range of Nissan product with a modern aesthetic. The new Nissan Leaf preserves the idea and welcomes a new design in which, however, has remained the brand image, with common details such as the front grille V-shaped, and floating rear pillar design. And new invoice details, as a body finished in various colors, which allow decorate the ceiling in a different color contrasting even with its black lateral line and tailgate.
The new Nissan Leaf has grown slightly in height (+3.5 cm), and width, but is also lower.
378 km of autonomy with a load
But the great leap of the second generation of the Nissan Leaf has to do with its autonomy and capacity of their batteries. 30 kWh which came to offer in the latest iterations of the first Leaf, we have moved to a Nissan Leaf with a battery capable of storing 40 kWh of energy. Enough for this new Nissan Leaf is able to offer a range of 378 kilometers, the distance we could go with a single full charge, as long as approval (NEDC).
In practice, the maximum distance you can travel will be lower. But you will be with me that the jump is important, with respect to 250 kilometers (NEDC) who came to homologate the old Leaf 30 kWh.
They would be lower than Tesla figures, or to the new Opel Ampera-e, with 60 kWh batteries promising theoretical 500 kilometers and 380 kilometers under real conditions. But still, they are really promising and representative figures of electric we see in the street in the final stretch of this decade.
Another step towards the autonomous car
The Nissan Leaf will also premiere the latest driving aids Nissan systems PROPILOT that automate some tasks and facilitate driving on the highway, as a semi-autonomous driver to "drive" the car in a single lane. More information on the Nissan Leaf PROPILOT.
It will also feature PROPILOT Park, a system most advanced automated parking. More information PROPILOT Park in the Nissan Leaf.
Nissan has even planned to revise the driving style of an electric car, proposing its way e-Pedal, that with energy regeneration system with much restraint would lead to a single pedal, pressing the accelerator to gain speed and dropping it to stop not only accelerate, but also to slow down. More information e-Pedal on the Nissan Leaf.
On board, the Nissan Leaf has also been revised deeply. Leaf interior now feature a cleaner design, and quality appearance - although this will have to check it when we see it live - with instruments in which the screens are gaining ground (with a 7 "TFT) and a team of entertainment center with touch screen, compatible with Apple and Android Auto carplay.
An electrical connected to your home, and to the cloud
Nissan Leaf also proposes to facilitate the interconnection of electric car home and infrastructure. Nissan offers its customers take advantage of the Nissan Leaf and batteries, along with other services and systems of the brand, to supply power at home, either to make intelligent use of this - recharge batteries when power is cheaper and use it when it is more expensive - or facilitate consumption, or even help in emergencies, as a catastrophe involving a power outage.
